About PixelArcadeGuide
PixelArcadeGuide covers browser games that have been running for years — in some cases for two decades. Most coverage of these titles is either nostalgic or out of date. We would rather tell you what they are like now, on the build that is live today.
How we test
New account, nothing purchased, at least ten hours per game across several days. We check populations at ordinary hours rather than peak weekends, because an empty world is a different game entirely.
What the rating measures
- How the current build holds up for someone arriving today, not in memory.
- What a free account actually reaches before anything is asked of it.
- Whether enough players are still around for the game to work as intended.
- How long it takes to reach something worth having.
Independence
Nobody pays for a place on the shelf or for a better score, and we hold no affiliate arrangements with the developers we cover. If that ever changes it will be stated at the top of the page in question.
We link, we do not host
Every button opens the developer's own site. We do not run, embed or stream any game, and we will never ask for your account details for one.
Corrections
Old games get updated and sometimes close. If an entry here no longer matches reality, tell us through the contact form and we will correct the page.
